| We just adopted our baby boy |
We just adopted our baby boy, he's with us for 2 months (now 7 months old). We are still waiting for Randburg court to receive papers from Johannesburg court, and I am utterly frustrated at the bungling of admin - this is a child's life, after all!
He was abandonded at birth, so we will have no information to share with him about his birth mother. I feel so sorry for him already, although it will be many years before he will understand his situation and maybe mourn for a birth mother who will forever be anonymus.
I would like to start a network of people who have adopted or were adopted, to share not only stories, but also advice, etc. Especially white couples adopting a black child, like us. Therefore, I am looking forward to the Chat room coming online soon.
There seems to be no website dedicated to Adoptive parents in South Africa at the moment. Perhaps this site could be a start?
